The surface of the ground was flat and dry from what I could feel. I could not see the ground because a thick heavy mist had covered the ground until it disappeared into the darkness that surrounded me. My breath turned into a foggy white gas that floated a little into the air, but then suddenly dispersed until it was no more. The darkness clung on to me like a magnetic field, yet despite my best efforts, they were all futile. I felt as if it were a moonless night and I was at a plain where a recent drought had occurred. Barren, dark, and lifeless. Yet this is all that I can call home.
