Well today its going to be short and sweet.
I'm leaving. I'm sorry. I'll miss all of you.

Sunday, May 30, 2010

My two legs carried me along a path,
some say it was full of wrath,
some say it was full of joy,
and some say it was used as decoy.

I thought and thought,
over this inexplicable thought.
Yet, I could not decide,
which one had lied.

When I knew, I gave a deep sigh,
I will have to see with my own eye.

"What do you define as reality?" asked the ominous man dressed in a black coat which concealed his shoes.
"Something that is tangible." I replied, but I could tell there was a look of amusement behind those sunglasses that disguised his face.
"Then I expect you believe everything in this room is real?" He asked to make sure.
"Why of course." I assured him, but my now, I was having serious doubts about whether this was a dream.
"Then where has the roof gone?" He asked.
I instinctively looked up and saw that the roof was replaced by the afternoon sun shinning down upon us.
"It must have been a retractable roof." I replied in defense of my earlier statement.
"Look at these walls, place your hand on them and do ask you like then tell me if they are real" I demanded of me.
I did as I was told and sure enough they smelled like paper from the wallpaper and it was hard just like concrete. I gave the man a confident look. Then he asked me to try again.
I took my index finger and I tapped the wall. The wall shattered as if my finger were a bullet that broke through the glass and I jumped back in surprise. When all the broken bits and pieces fell to the ground, they dissolved into a clear liquid and then the liquid started to slide towards each other until it connected into one giant pool of liquid. The liquid started to erect itself into a pole that stood up vertically to be as tall as I was. The man then walked towards that pole and then he walked up the pole so that he was standing sideways.
"How did you do that?" I asked startle.
"Allow me to ask you how did you do that?" He asked.
I looked to my left and there I saw the ground, I looked to my right and I saw the sun. I knew now that it was I that was standing sideways and not him. Instantly I started to fall towards the earth the weightless sensation was nice for a split second, but after that it was terrifying and I closed my eyes waiting for impact.

The alarm clock went off and I knew it was only a dream, but that beeping was ever so annoying. Before I opened my eyes, I wished that the clock could simply shatter like the walls did in my dream and turn into my breakfast. Suddenly the noise stopped and I looked to my right with a jerk and I saw that the clock did in fact shatter and form into my breakfast, but behind the cup of milk, I could see the sun. I was then again, sideways, yet this time I chose to believe that I wouldn't fall.

Recently, I've been very interested in photo manipulation. Photo manipulation is basically image editing to create an illusion or deception. Mostly this technique is used to convey a message or just to create an image that is stunningly beautiful.
I really wish I could create something like the one above.

Sci-Fi Morning
As I woke up, my automatic bed sat me up like a dentist chair and I swiveled so that my feet dangled off the mattress and two mechanic arms put a pair of slippers on my feet. I told the computer to prepare my breakfast: pancake with lots of syrup and a large cup of milk. A conveyor belt took me to the washroom and I sat down while a helmet slowly came down from the ceiling and once it was on my head, it brushed my teeth. The helmet rose back up through sliding doors and into the ceiling. Then a shower-head came down through the same opening and I got a shower. The computer asked "Are you going to school today?" "Yes." I answered and once out of the washroom, a change of clothes was set out for me. I put on the clothes and ate my breakfast while mechanical arms packed my backpack and set them in the car. After I finished, another conveyor belt took me to the door and I stepped out into the sunshine. I looked up and I could see skyscrapers and hover-cars roamed the air. I lived on the 57th floor and I stood at the landing pad until my own hover-car came and as I stepped in, digital shutters went up in the windows that blocked the sun and the car went into autopilot.

The surface of the ground was flat and dry from what I could feel. I could not see the ground because a thick heavy mist had covered the ground until it disappeared into the darkness that surrounded me. My breath turned into a foggy white gas that floated a little into the air, but then suddenly dispersed until it was no more. The darkness clung on to me like a magnetic field, yet despite my best efforts, they were all futile. I felt as if it were a moonless night and I was at a plain where a recent drought had occurred. Barren, dark, and lifeless. Yet this is all that I can call home.

Monday May 24th
Canada has one of the world's best health care system. If the government were to make the whole country's health care system identical to the one in the USA I think such a change would bring great disturbances in the normals lives of people in Canada.
Canada has free healthcare, so if this were to change, many people would go to the doctor less. For example, if someone has a cold, they might go to the doctor and if they have a fever, they will definitely go to the doctor, if the healthcare system were to change, people wouldn't go to the doctor even in the case of a fever. Also for some life threatening conditions or illnesses that need advanced medical attention, some people will have to struggle to get enough money to be able to pay for those circumstances.
Studies say that 40% of people in the US don't have adequate health insurance and in Canada, 5% of the people can't find a regular doctor and 9% never looked for one. Although the numbers for Canada are quite shocking, the people who can't find a regular doctor are covered by the national health care system . Also, many people in the US don't have adequate health insurance.
In general the health of the people in Canada is much better then of the people in the USA because statistics have shown that Canadians have a higher life expectancy then the people in USA.

For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to have a pet puppy because I was really good with dogs. The problem was, I always lived in a NO PETS building, so I never got the chance to have a pet like like many of my other friends. Finally after many years of moving, I've found a home where pets are welcome.
Having a pet puppy will need consistent jobs such as cleaning after it, clipping its toes, have it take a bath, taking it for walks, and feeding it. As a result, this will enable the members of the family to gain a sense of responsibility and this will make them more independent. Because of these new prospects the household will become more organized and therefore more efficient.
I want a puppy... cuz they are fun ;D

Today I noticed that most people frown more often then smile.
Cities are gradually becoming bigger and bigger while suburban town are either transforming into cities or they are being abandoned. In the city, the at mood is very strict and tight as if everything was on a schedule because of the orderly way that buildings are placed. In suburban places the atmosphere is generally more relaxed, that's why many people prefer the retire in the countryside.
Also In large cities, it is quite difficult to get to know everyone so people become very unfamiliar and since that feeling is very consistent, people will always feel that way. Usually people frown when they don't like something and unfamiliarity is a very unwelcome feeling because there is something that you are unsure of or unfamiliar of, so this will cause people to frown.
I think that people will be able to smile more if they look at the brighter aspects of being in a city. For example, the transportation is more efficient then other places, the streets are cleaner, and the technology is more suitable for a modern day city dweller.
I Think that smiling is contagious and people should smile more.

The bustling activity was evident as I walked closer to the street market. The heat of the summer sun was unbearable and just as unforgiving. The humid stench of salt and fish filled the air which repulsed me so that I was constantly feeling as if I was going to puke. I thought I would soon get used to it, but little did I know that to accomplish that would be impossible. I walked closer and closer and I could see the the ground littered with bits and pieces of vegetables.

Being a Teen
Everyone in some point of their lives will be a teenager. Being a teenager comes with tons of responsibilities and many important choices to be made, also there will be major changes in our lifestyle.
The older you get, to more people will expect from you, but when you are a teenager, that is not always an easy thing to fulfill. When you are 13, you start high school and there, you will have to adjust to the higher expectations and the pressure to perform well in all areas of achievement. Students will start to join sports teams, bands, choirs, orchestras. The competition among the students will be higher, but during this time, humans will have their major growth spurt and thus, they need more sleep, but with the extra tasks that they need to accomplish.
From the easy life of a elementary student to the tough workloads of a high school student, student's lifestyles will take on a dramatic change. The high school student will need to much more conscious of how effectively they use their time and they will need to eat more. When becoming a teenager, we will have a much more social lifestyle which means we will be much more likely to chat with our friends online or over the phone and we will aim to spend more time with them. This will also consume more of the limited time we have. Peer pressure also plays a role in how we will react to the changes. If less time is spend with our friends, our social networks might become looser and looser which could potentially lead to us having low self esteem if we lack the support of the people who were once our friends. Of course that does not mean we should completely give up our schoolwork and go hang our with our friends, but teenagers will need to pass this incredible balancing act to be successful in their life.

PIANO

Every person has something that they value that they would never want to give up. That should be something that means a lot to someone. For me, that is my piano.
I got my piano when I was merely 8 years old, but little did I know how important to me that instrument would be. I still remember walking into Tom Lee Music and seeing all the pianos lined up column by column, row by row. I told my parents, "Lets go buy that big white one over there!" "No Steven, we can't get that one." my mother replied. So in the end, we bought a normal Yamaha upright piano. When we brought it home, I played around with it for a bit, but like all toys that children play with, they will always get tired of it after sometime. I was no different. At first I was forced to play the piano by my parents like a slave, but soon after my skills were more toned and I was able to create more beautiful music, I was able to express my sorrows and sadness through the black and white keys of my piano. Whenever I thought that there was something that I couldn't just bear inside and handle myself, I would always look towards the piano as a way to let me release those feelings if no one would take the time to listen.
Now, playing piano is a lot more like a way for my to enjoy myself just like how some people play computer games to enjoy themselves, I can use the piano to do just the same.

Rebellion is more then just disagreeing with someone of higher social ranking, but rebellion is something that allows people to define what is just. Rebellion can bring people to understand the misfortunes of other people or have those people brought down because of their corrupt decision. People will only rebel if they think they are being treated unfairly or if commonly agree that something is unjust and decide to take action to stop it. It can bring great success or bring immense failure, but if there is a rebellion it always brings justice for one party.
BTW we are having our spring concert for band ;D

It's the old spice commercial, I thought it was hilarious so I'm basing our commercial on that!

Essay

Procrastination or Managing Your Time?

Whenever there is work to be done, there are generally two ways of completing the work, one is procrastinating and the other is managing the time. Procrastinating is when you leave all your work to the last minute and then rush to complete it and managing your time is to finish the work earlier to leave time for further adjustments.

The effectiveness of a study method depends on the quality of the work and the quality of work depends on how much thought and time you spend to create it. Thought needs time to think out and time comes from effective time usage which means that you need to do work quickly to leave time for thought and working on your task.

Procrastination many seem like a tempting option to choose because it gives you more time to relax before you have to complete your work, but in reality, when you relax, you still have the thought of unfinished work that bothers you, so you never truly relax. When you leave all your work to the end, you cannot edit and because the deadline has already approached.

Managing your time will definitely improve the quality of your work because it allows time for revision. Also, if you finish your work ahead of time, you have the advantage of a flexible schedule. If you have a flexible schedule you won’t have any added troubles in case something unexpected occurs.

In the end, managing your time is the ultimate method to improve the quality of your work. Not only will it give you time to revise, but it will also give you a piece of mind that your work is complete. Procrastination will almost always decrease the quality of your work because not only will it give you pressure, but your ‘relaxation’ won’t be relaxing.

Her wisp of hair flew by my face, yet I reacted long after she had left my view. I looked back to where she had gone and I saw her in the middle of the cobblestone street with a mischievous smile bent across the pale skin on her face. With an entrancing skip, she disappeared into the alley. Without hesitation, I followed her and as I turned into the narrow lane, but no angel appeared before my eyes. It was just a dark narrow street, where even a drop of sun could not be seen.

Today we went to Playland! Okay
Coaster x 2
Hell's Gate x 3
Hellavator
Corkscrew
Water Flume
Yeah, I was fun, but I was on the verge of puking for much of the time.

Also today, after swim practice our car didn't start up so we wasted almost an hour trying to fix the car and then we fixed it! I think it just needed a break and was fine after that. ;D

WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL I FINALLY HAVE CABLE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE AND I GOT MY INTERNET BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OKAY. Well, today we had the buskerfest afterparty and after that I didn't need any lunch, but then again i was a pig at eating all of that food.

May 9th

SUN RUN! Wowzers it was long, but I managed to get the end in 52mins. After we got there I had 5 Red-Bulls! After the run, Jonathan, Chloe, and I went to Oakridge Mall to get something to eat and then I went to massage. Too tired, so my legs are sore. I think this is another indication that I shouldn’t keep swimming because my body just won’t keep up. I told my dad I wanted to quit and he said that would be fine. Hmm…. He’s getting nicer.

May 8th

I skipped swim practice in the morning and now my coach is really angry because I got there and then I went back home without telling her. I had sleep depravation and my stomach hurt a lot. My dad is angry too because he didn’t want me to skip.

ANYWAYS

Tomorrow is the Sun Run! I guess I’m going to be really tired.

May 7th

Today was the track meet! OKAY! So, I got two first place ribbons from the 4x100 co-ed relay and the co-ed medley relay. I also got a second place in shot-put. I’m pretty upset that I missed the 1500 race because I could have won it, but they changed the order of the events so I missed it.

May 6th

I think I’m going to quit swimming because my muscles can’t take it anymore. The condition of my muscles is making me tired and the lack of sleep is also bad for my health. I usually have to go swimming right after school so I only start homework at around 8:30 so I have to stay up late to finish my work. Also swim meets will use up my weekends so that I won’t have time to get together if I have a group project.

May 5th
Okay so I've got the grade 8 track meet on friday. I have four events, the 4 x 100 co-ed relay, the 400m in the co-ed medley relay, shotput, and 1500. It's going to be a long day. And we have a math quiz too.
May 4

hahahaahahahahh! I thought I missed the sun run... little did i know it was this week. Well my mom is going to hawaii on friday for a fortnight? can't remember, but she's leaving me here because I'm too annoying to take... ahhahahaha...no, that wasn't nice D=

Monday, May 3, 2010

Because we have moved, there have been a few things that impacted my life dramatically for that period of time.
1. I haven't been able to get much sleep because of moving.
2. the people in my family are becoming more and more irritable
3. I don't have time to finish my homework
4. I am extremely exhausted
Finally moved all of the boxes to our new home and just until now, I've noticed I haven't touched Bustkerfest even the slightest bit so I stayed up until 3 o'clock to practice WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS on the piano. But it's partially my group members fault because they gave me the music on friday.
At the historica fair today, it reminded me of the four years before when I had to do historica every year, but now I look back upon it and I think I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience from doing those fairs. Unfortunetly people in high school can't compete.
April 30th, 2010
Tomorrow I get to see my friend! =D but I have a swim meet D=. I finally spent my first night in our new house and the double glass windows are a big help to reduce noise so I could actually sleep soundly, but the next day I have to wake up extra early for the swim meet ;D fun fun!
April 29th, 2010
I asked my mom to let me go to the historica fair to see my friend and she let me! zomg that's the best! Anyways, My parents also said that we will be able to fit my piano, a desk, and my bed in the den so, my room... will be complete ;D
